EDF-Myanmar Donates Water Purifier to Old Town East Basic Education Primary School
On July 25, 2023, EDF-Myanmar organized a water purifier donation ceremony at Old Town East Basic Education Primary School in Than Lin Township, Yangon Region, Myanmar.
During a visit to the school in 2022, the school principal discussed the ongoing difficulties regarding access to safe drinking water with EDF-Myanmar Managing Director U Zin Zaw Zaw Maung. After conducting in-school field trips, EDF-Myanmar successfully arranged for the donation of a water purifier.
The ceremony, attended by the Township Education Officer, Ward Administrator, School Committee Members, neighborhood parents, teachers, and students, was a joyous occasion. Managing Director U Zin Zaw Zaw Maung explained the construction and installation of the water purifier during the event. The principal expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Japanese donors and EDF-Myanmar officials for their generosity.
The ceremony culminated in a ribbon-cutting, led by U Zin Zaw Zaw Maung, the headmistress, and other officials. Students celebrated by enjoying clean drinking water for the first time and capturing the moment with memorable photos.
